Triumph

I am so exhausted. Since I had to turn a paper in today, I worked on it till 3AM in the morning. And I must get up at 8 to keep a appointment. I tried my best to keep myself away from sleep during classes today. What is more, I cannot go to bed early tonight either because of Rockets' game. Fortunately, Rockets won the first 2 games of the series and have a bright future.

Even though T-Mac scored 31 points which is the highest score in Rockets, in my opinion, he played not well really. He shot 29 times tonight and only made 9 times. As a leader, he was not good enough to bring his team to triumph. Yao Ming did average job tonight, not amazing but good. He contributed 27 points and 9 rebounds to his team.

Overall, Rockets did a good job in both of the two home games. Now, they keep a big advantage and will face Utah's challenge in Salt Lakes later this week. God bless Rockets.

a century

I just feel that I have not blogged for almost a whole centery. Not only because I was so busy last week, and my computer was infested by virus as well. I spent a whole afternoon to format my harddisk and reinstall my system and programs. This time, I have to make a backup in case it will broken down again.

Bad news, there was a horrible shooting in a university of Virginia. 33 people including criminal were killed. It is just a horror and I can not believe a lunatic guy came into a campus with a gun and shot innocent students. Is there any guards in that school? Why did it take such a long time for the cops arrive there ? This is quite unbelievable, and my grandma just called earlier today to tell me to keep safe. I told her not to worry about me because my school is very safe. In fact, I am not sure about it.

Will Smith

Will Smith is one of my favorite actors in Hollywood. In my opinion, he is not only a charming guy but also a skillful actor. He even got a very high score in SAT and he surprisingly denied the scholarship from M.I.T.

His first movie that I saw was Independent Day. It was a fabulous movie and I can still remember every detail of it. From then on, I remembered him. After that, he acted in many famous films such as "Man in Black I&II", "Wild Wild West", and "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air." Recently, he and his little son was starred in "The Pursuit of Happiness" I really like that movie. It tells a story about a broke man who struggled with constant troubles made his life successful. It is inspired by a true life of Christopher Gardner. I can not imagine one can get success under such a harsh circumstance. And Will played the character very well.

My Rocket

My Rocket just was beated by Utah Jazz at home. Rocket played very well until the 4th quarter. They always could not have a good end. Yao had a big night with 35 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks. However, this effort can not rescue his team. They lost an important game and they probably lost the home advantage in the upcoming playoff.

I am quite worring about Beijing now. From news, I knew that a serious sandstorm attacked Beijing recently. Although the government is investing a lot of money to improve the environment around Beijing, it is still not changing fast enough. It will be an embarrassing thing that a sandstorm is attacking Beijing when the Olympics is holding there. There is only one year left to change the invironment.

Long Island

Long Island is my favourate place in the U.S. I visited there the second day I came to this country. A couple who are my parents' friends invited us to their house. It was a nice and attractive place. In that city, every house has a large backyard which is 2-5 acres. The environment there is very nice as well. A beautiful beach is right besides their house and even a part of natural forest is in that neighborhood.

I went there with my parents last Sunday. We wanted to buy a new car from a LEXUS dealer there. Our current car is a Honda 2004 Accord which I don't like that much. Acctually, I prefer SAV to Sadens. There was a 2005 Lexus RX330 SAV which we all like. Then we reach the agreement to byu it and trade in our old one. Even though I didn't like our current car, I kind of felt sad when we sold it. The new car will not be available until this Thursday. I am very looking forward to drive it.

Appointment

I saw my advisor this Friday and talked about my courses in summer. It turned out to only 12 credits in summer semesters. But it is fine, I can still get more than a month to enjoy my summer vacation. My advisor suggested an advanced Theology class for me in fall, but I refused without thought. I am really sick of it. Then he told me that I have to take 9 Theology credits before my graduation. Oh my God, what am I gonna do? Even though I don't believe in God and Jesus, at least I respect the Christians and Catholics. However I am not sure that I can still be cool with them after the religion drives me crazy.

In that afternoon, I finally have the opportunity for playing pool again after 3 months. It was in a bar of Orlando downtown the last time I played it. I used to learn playing pool from my father when I was only 8. I can still remember there was a wonderful pool table in our Czech house. And I practised everyday after school. After I went back to China, I only got several chances to play it, and most of my friends did not play it well. But some of my friends here play really good. Finally I get some friends who have the same hobby with me.

Little Things

My sleep did bother me a lot. I had more than 9 hours sleep everyday lately. Although I didn't feel exhausted at all before I went ot bed, I just could not wake up on time. Due to this, I decided to make a alarm clock myself. I had 3 clocks before, but all of them were broke by myself when it was alarming. I admit that I have a bad temper when my fast sleep was suddenly interrupted by something. Therefore, none of the 3 clocks can survive for more than a month.

But this time, I dicide to make my laptop to be my alarm clock. It is too expensive so I don't dare to treat it the way that I treat to my former clock. I usually keep my computer on day and night to download movies and PC games. So I can make a schedule task on my computer to turn on my music player program when I want to be waked up. And it worked this morning. I was waked up by my favorate music and I can even change the music everyday. I think I can have a good start everyday from now on.

It is cool, isn't it?

Experience in Hospital

It was really a terrible, horrible week. A respectable old man just past away, my mon received a little operation on her leg, and what is worst, my father was cut by the edge of radiator when he fell down on the floor. There was a long wound on his hand and the blood was welling severely.

We immediately went to NY hospital Queens which is very close to our house. It took a long time before my father got treated because they have to fill up many forms. This is my first time in American hospital and I remember things never happend like this in China. They don't treat the patient at once instead they fill up some stupid forms at first.

After that, we had a friendly jewish doctor. Even though his accent made his word very difficult to be understood, he was really warmhearted. He was very skillful and tied the wound up very gently.

Besides, I have a lot of assignment to be done this weekend. What a dreadful week.

The next four days

More than half part of the spring break have past, and I found that I have a lot of work, including a 5-pages paper, a 400-words message, a handout of the workshop and an essay, to do in the next four days. My break is over now.

Because of the snow yesterday, we cancelled our skiing plan in NJ. I don't like driving in snow and a lot of people don't trust my driving skill in snow. So I just stayed at home and watch TV for a whole day. It really really sucks, and it is totally a waste of time.

I just got only one of my six midterm grades. It is a "A" of my Philosophy grade. Fortunately, my whole weekend which was spent on working on my paper was not waste. This is the first "A" in my American university experience, and it feels good.

I have to register my summer classes after this break. All of my Chinese friends decide to return China instead of studying in summer. I want to go back as well and I admire them so much. But I want to graduate earlier and I hope to transfer to NYU before graduation. Therefore, I have to study in summer semester alone and go back to China in winter.

"As long as you want to obtain more , you have to sacrifice more." that was what my grandpa told me before.

Photos in D.C

A Visit of Washington D.C

Finally, I have time to play in the lovely spring break. I planed to have a visit to D.C in spring break two weeks ago, and I made it this week. After a 5 hours trip in bus, I arrived in D.C at 1 PM this Monday. It is totally different from NYC. No rushing crowd in the street, no skyscrapers, no dirty metro stations, D.C is a more civilized city in my impression. As the capital of the U.S, D.C is not very cosmopolitan but polite. Walking in the street of D.C, you will get a peaceful feeling. All the buildings there are stately and clean like old British gentlemen, all the metro stations are the same-looking, neat and ordered. Everybody stay on the right side when they are on the escalator, so the people who are in a rush can pass them easily.

There is a wide plaza between Congress Building and Washington Monument. The plaza is surrounded by many museums such as Natural History and Space Air. All of them are free to visitors. Due to the terrible windy weather, I just visited only 2 of them, and both of which are interesting.

In the second day, I went to White House and Union Station. I have to say that White House is not very attractive, maybe that is because I am not interested in polity or Bush. Union Station is a great place and it remind me of Grand Central where I just visited weeks ago. Both of them are great stations and have a long history. I kind of think that Union Station is a little more elegant than Grand Central, although I like them equally.

Wall Street

It's already 11 o'clock in the night, and I haven't finish my work yet. I need a relax to keep me fresh for the later work. Blogging is a good idea in my opinion. It's like a deep breath before diving into the deep sea.

This time I want to talk about something about wall street in my opinion. Working in Wall Street in one of my dreams. I like wall street not only because there is a lot of money, but I love investment as well. As we know, wall street is the heaven of the brokers all around the world. MorganStanley, Rockefeller, NYSE, AMEX and the headquarter of every big funds are crowded in the narrow, old street. But it is the place where miracles happen everyday. A lot of talented managers who control billions of dollar work in that street. How exciting is working there with them. You can talk to the most intellgent people about a huge sum of money's movement. If you are smart and powerful enough, you can even fight against the national central bank just like what George Soros did to the British Bank. It is magical, isn't it?

Although I don't want to be the guy like Soros who used to be the enemy of some nations, but wall street is really a fantastic place. You can be a millionaire over a night, and you can be broke soon after the success. It is the heaven to the successful men and it is also the hell to the losers.

Some Minutiae

I haven't go out and play for two weeks. Really sucks, last Thursday I even caught a little cold, it was not my week. I spent a whole day to work out my Philosophy paper about Socrates. Fortunately, I can go out and have a drive this night, and I really like to drive in high way to relax, of course without traffic jam.

Lately, the life is becoming tedious because of the upcoming midterm exam. But as the poem said "if winter comes, can spring be far behind?" I am really looking forward to the spring break. I am planning a visit to NASA in Houston, but I haven't told my parents. If they don't give me money, I have to spend my whold break on TV and sleeping. My grandpa called last night, he is much better now. Thank godness. Then I don't have to go back and I can go to summer semester instead.

By the way, I voted Will Smith for Oscar Best Actor, that guy is really good at act.

Hope everybody will do good in midterm.

Write to myself.

The midterm exam is looming. You alway hate exams because it takes you a large part of spare time to prepare of it. No time for playing. I am sympathetic.
But since you have no choice beside of getting a high grade, why are you so upset? You should face it more positively rather that negetively. I know you are not willing to do this, but you have no choices. Everybody will endure a lot of things which he would not like to do before getting the goal. You don't want to see your mother disappoint with you, and you don't like to see the rejection from NYU because of your poor GPA in the future. So why don't you do it happily instead of bitching it while you are doing it. Come on, it is quite simple, piece of cake, isn't it??
I am sure that you will do good in speaking's vocabulary and writting essay because of your hard working before. What is next? Economy? that is too easy to be a challenge...review it several times before exams and you will be good. As you have finished your Business assignment, you will not have to worry about it. Theology, Hmm...I admit that it is a little bit harder, but it is not a big deal. Just do not be too rebellious and try to answer the questions in the way that the professor expect. I know it will be difficult to remember the story to you, a person who have none religious experience, but you should work on it as hardly as you can. Bible is just a book! The rest one is Philosophy which is sophisiticated...Fortunately, it is just a 3 pages paper and you have to finish it by this weekend.
See that is it...Never be afraid, and try your best. There is no other goals beside of "A"s. I really like the saying of NIKE" just do it"

Blizzard!! Cool!

There was a blizzard attacking N.Y this morning. Cool, I like snow anyway, and the best thing is my classes in this afternoon were cancelled. Cheering...It is Valentine's Day today, so spending the whole day with my parents sucks. I kind of miss my ex-girlfriend a little although I haven't heard from her for almost half year. Hope she've been good.

Lately, I had a interesting debate with Prof.Bramble. I feel sorry that I use Teresa's blog as BBS. But I have to say, I never have writen a long article like these. Especially it is becoming longer and longer time by time. I feel good, because it have improved my English, and it makes me rethink some point that I never thought before. At least I am thinking of it instead of just believing what I have been told before. Even though I still can not accept your idea now, I have learnt a lot in the process. That makes it meaningful.

Sigh...I've written a long long long comment and a 400-word message of Theology and 1.5 Philosophy papers and this blog...I really feel tired...I am going to bed...

See you guys in class.

What should I say??

It is the first time when I am about to write my blog, I have no idea what I am going to write about. Maybe because I spent all my last weekend on doing assignment. Damn it, I have no time to play.

I have lived in Czech Republic for almost one year when I was 8. I lived in Praha with my parents when they run a business there. It is a very beautiful country, and Praha is the brightest pearl of the crown. The Prague River flows through the city peacely, and the famous Charles Bright was built on it. The whole city is filled with ancient building like bell tower and castle. And all the road and street there is made of stone. The most adorable building is a bell tower of a cathedral. I remember there was a big crowd under it in Christmas Eve to celebrate it. When it was 12 o'clock, a lot of mechanical little people was coming out from the big clock and dancing with music. People hug and kissed each other and all of them was very happy. Beside, the beer produced in Czech is gorgeous. There was a annual beer fastival which is held in a big plaza. Since I was too young to join it, my father attended it every single year. Fortunately I tasted it because my parents's friends in Czech brought some to us last year.
I just want to go back there and have a visit. I really like there.

I never feel so sad...

It is a sad story of my life. If you don't want to be brought down, stop here.

I just hung up the call to my grandparents and I never feel so sad before...both my grandfather and the father of my grandfather are sick now...

When I was in China, I lived with my grandparents and the father of my grandfather who is 94 now. After my parents went abroad, I was raised by my grandparents. I love them more than any one in my family even my parents. Luckily, I never feel the sadness of losing old men in the family which most of my friend have felt. I used to feel that I am the luckiest grandchild in the world because all my grandparens even the father of my grandfather are alive and they all love me very much. But now...my grandfather was send to hospital to receive an operation of prostate disease. And the father of my grandfather is too old to be healthy, there are 2 knubs were diagnosed in his liver. Shoot!!!!!!!!

Before I leave home, everyone of them is healthy...but now...my grandfather is restoring from operation now and he told me he do not feel good as before, sometimes the wound of operation wakes him up in the midnight and keeps him from sleeping for the whole night. Hope he will be healthy soon.

But the father of my grandfather...the doctors said there is nothing to do...the whole liver is bad because of the drinking for almost 70 years...and...he can hardly eat something for meal everyday now. He is leaving us now...

In Philadelphia

Auto Show

I went to Philadelphia last Friday to visit the annual car show. I was very exciting about it because before that I've never have a chance to see some fancy cars in person. I have to say Philadelphia is a nice city. I remember that the United States Declaration of Independence was signed there. It is cleaner and quiter than N.Y.C. The show is just gorgeous and you can touch most of them directly. You can stay on the wheel to pretend you are driving it. It feels so cool. And I have seen many famous cars there such as Porsche, Ferrari and BMW. I did sit in the Porsche Carrera GT which have been my favorate racecar since 1999 when I saw it on magzine. It will cost you more than $400,000 if you want to buy it now. Oh, my god...I must really work hard from now on if I want to get it before 35.

Beside that, I had really amazing experence during that show. I saw Miss America in person and get a photo with her. Because she represent Bently in their promotion. Before met her, I had waited 20 minutes in line. But it is worthy. She is a pretty girl indeed.

Interesting Fact

I just read a funny fact online, and want to share with everybody...Hope we can get something from it...

If we make A equals 1%, B equals 2%, C equals 3%...X equals 24%, Y equals 25%, Z equals 26%, and we can see this:
Knowledge=K+N+O+W+L+E+D+G+E=11+14+15+23+12+5+4+7+5=96%
Love=L+O+V+E=12+15+22+5=54%
Luck=L+U+C+K=12+21+3+11=47%
So far, we can see knowledge, love and luck that we consider as most important things do not look perfect in this case.
What is perfect?
Is money? Money=M+O+N+E+Y=13+15+14+5+25=72%
Is leadership?Leadership=L+E+A+D+E+R+S+H+I+P=12+5+1+4+5+18+19+8+9+16=97%
So what is the most perfect thing?
is Attitude
Attitude=A+T+T+I+T+U+D+E=1+20+20+9+20+21+4+5=100%...
Is it just a coincidence?

Sonw Again

It snowed this morning, and this time it's a little bit heavier than before. I always like snow, because it is beautiful. Remember when I was a kid, it was my festival every time when it snowed. I played it with my little friends happily. It was my happy time. But when I was growing up, I found that the snow is in distance from me. I thought playing snow is so childish and maybe only belong to kids. So I just can watched it when it was snowing. It was so beautiful so I can not leave some foot print in it. Sometimes I still have the impulse to run into the snow and play it. But it was just an impulse.

By the way, it reminds me that the Chinese New Year is coming up. Every year I spended my New Year Eve with my grandparents. The dumplings made by them are really fabulous.I think they will have a longly New Year this time. So am I, because my parents want to go to the church where I don't like at all.I miss my grand parents so much...

About Bush's address

G.W.Bush mentioned that the troops in Iraq will increase to 92000 in 5 years in his address last week. I have to say I was really scared. It is totally a rediculous policy. He is sending more young people to hell. I don't mean that Iraq is hell, but the situation there is in absolute chaos. I don't have a optimistic view on its future and I kind of think it is impossible to control now. And even more troops can do nothing about it. Bush killed Sadam because he is a definite dictator. However, he is the only man who can run the Iraq as a whole country. Indeed, he slaughter more than 100 people in a village in 1990s, and that's why west people call him devil. But at least, in his regiem parents didn't have to worry about the safty of their child on the way to school, and now he have to. Suicide bombing happens everyday in the nation's capital. No one there feels safe from the governor to the civilian. Guns and rocket launchers are available in grocery with a low price. The hatred between different religious union and between Iraqies and Americans is become more severe everyday. So what can more troops do except enhance the hatred? In this case, Bush is quite like a gambler in politics. When he loses, he will put more chips in. But his behavior will do nothing but make him a big loser and kill more young American soldiers.

My Theology Class

I took my Theology class yesterday. It was very funny in my opinion. Almost everybody have doubt on the religion, They asked funny questions about Bible and God, such as"how to prove the existence of God?""When is the beginning of everything?"and"Are dinosaurs created by God?" etc. The lecture is frequently interrupted by questions and debate. It was very interesting.

By the way, my professor is very tricky, he always said "we will mention that later in the class" when he couldn't answer the question, certainly he didn't. I have to say that he is very strict. I have to post 2 messages about the questions he asked, and each one should be at least 300 words. Beside that, a reading assingment which includes 50-60 pages of Bible and other textbooks is necessary. Before the every class, there will be a quiz including the content of last lecture and reading. If you fail to take 11 of 20 questions, you will have no credit of this class. Geez, I have to work on the sophisticated Bible very hardly.
